Unshoveling Snow
Lingering snow piles can be depressing for those of us anxious for spring. One way to help the piles disappear in time for the first signs of spring is to unshovel the snow on warm winter days. Unshoveling just means taking the snow from piles and distributing it to places where the snow will melt quicker — that can be any sunny spot with no remaining snow cover. A great location to spread the leftover snow is on a black, asphalt surface which tends to stay warmer than surrounding areas . While many local ordinances prevent you from shoveling the snow into a street, the asphalt driveway where the snow was shoveled from in the first place may be the perfect choice.
